Cosmetic Argan Oil is used for external massage oil where it is warmed and then the affected joint if gently massage. Antioxidant flavonoids and Tocopherols found in Argan and cannot be synthesized by the body . These antioxidants are involved in many activities including: promoting good circulation and acting as a natural anti-inflammatory. possible this is linked with Argan Oil’s traditional reputation for alleviating Arthritic pain.

In addition the eating form of Argan Oil is also used by mouth and is traditionally prescribed as hepatoprotective agent, or in case of hypercholesterolemia or atherosclerosis.

It is possibly significant that Argan Oil contains triterpene alcohols. Triterpenoids are biologically active substances. The major constituents of the triterpenic fraction of argan oil include butyrospermol ( 18%) an anti inflammatory.

New research suggests that Culinary Argan Oil combined with a specialist nutritional supplement, can be used as an effective, natural treatment plan for treating Arthritis.

Imin Tanout, Morocco, August 2011 - Research that suggests that Argan Oil can form part of a natural approach to treatment of Arthritis. A treatment that is just as effective as a prescription drugs but without the gastrointestinal damage caused by drugs such as Naproxen and Ibuprofen.

So, what traditional treatments did people find and use before modern drugs existed and could new nutritional supplement enhance these cures to offer and effective alternative natural treatment?

In Morocco there is a very special tree, the Argan Tree The edible and cosmetic oils produced from this tree have been used for relief of Arthritis for centuries. New research suggests that using Argan Oils in combination with the nutritional supplement SAMe could form the basis of a very effective plan for relief of Arthritis. Two forms of Argan Oil can be used for treatment of Arthritis. Culinary Argan can be eaten and the cosmetic form of Argan Oil used for external massage.

Modern science now understands how Argan Oil can be of help with Arthritis and Argan Oil Direct customer feedback also suggests that combining culinary Argan Oil in the diet, cosmetic Argan Oil as a massage oil, with the supplement SAMe can be very effective when taken over a 3 month period.

So how does it work?

Argan Oil is very rich in anti oxidants and a wide range of nutrients that could contribute to its effects on Arthritis. Most significant is the presence of anti-inflammatory Saponins – including four “Arganine” Saponins recently discovered in Argan Oil – which are now undergoing research. It is proposed that 15ml to 25ml ( about 1 to 2 tablespoons ) of culinary Argan Oil included in the diet could have a significant value as part of a natural Arthritis treatment plan.
You have heard about SAMe in the media, the new natural antidepressant… and more. SAMe, or s-adenosyl-methionine is a naturally occurring substance in the body.
Numerous clinical studies have shown that SAMe can reduce pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with degenerative joint problems. When compared to the common anti-inflammatory medications, Naproxen and Ibuprofen, SAMe did an equally effective job in reducing pain and inflammation over a three month period, and without the gastrointestinal damage caused by these drugs. Clinical studies show SAMe works well in countering the fatigue, inflammation and pain associated with fibromyalgia, a puzzling and hard to treat condition.
Safety:In general, the longer SAMe is used, the more beneficial the results. It can be used safely during pregnancy and nursing. There are no reported negative interactions with other medications or nutritional supplements

Curcumin for Easing Arthritis Pain

Spices have always been used as medicines. In one recent medical study, curcumin was found to be better than conventional medications at relieving the pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Curcumin is derived from the spice turmeric which is a member of the ginger family.
Medical research with curcumin or its parent, turmeric, is increasing. Studies currently underway indicate that curcumin and turmeric may have benefits in cancers, skin conditions like psoriasis, Alzheimer’s disease, irritable bowel disease, autoimmune diseases and chronic pain.
An autoimmune disease is a medical condition in which the body attacks itself. One autoimmune disease is rheumatoid arthritis with Asthma and Eczema like skin conditions being others. Rheumatoid arthritis sufferers experience pain and damage to the joints, particularly in the hands. In its most severe forms it can even be life threatening causing damage to many organs, including the heart and liver. For unknown reasons, women are affected three times more often than men.
The standard anti-inflammatory medications used to help with the pain can damage the kidneys and increase the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding. So an alternative safer pain-relieving product is needed for long-term use. Curcumin may be an option. Also see our article about the use of “Same”.
In the medical journal Phytotherapy Research, two researchers showed that curcumin is more effective than diclofenac for the pain associated with mild rheumatoid arthritis.
In the study patients taking curcumin for 8 weeks experienced a 44 percent reduction in pain. Those taking diclofenac had a 42 percent reduction.
The curcumin group also had a greater reduction in overall inflammation with no adverse side effects. Unfortunately curcumin, by itself, it is poorly absorbed. However, Black pepper can help increase absorption. So look for this if seeking to buy Curcumin.

In conclusion, the these three natural supplements of Organic culinary Argan Oils, for eating and cosmetic oil massage, combined with the SAMe nutritional supplement or Curcumin could prove to be an effective alternative to common Arthritis anti-inflammatory drugs.
